Basketball Recap: Thorp Comes Up Short

Thorp was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 57-27 defeat at the hands of the Elmwood/Plum City Wolves. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Thorp lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ashlyn Abramczak, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards. That was a full 48.1% of Thorp's points, marking the fifth time in a row Abramczak has posted more than a third of the team's points. Emma Mohr also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Thorp's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Elmwood/Plum City, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Thorp will venture away from home to face off against Stanley-Boyd at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Elmwood/Plum City, they will take on Osseo-Fairchild at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
