Basketball Recap: St. Edward's Drops Highest Score of Season Against Odyssey Charter School

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Edward). They breezed by the Odyssey Charter School Titans to the tune of 64-17 on Tuesday. With the Pirates ahead 37-10 at the half, the game was all but over already.

St. Edward's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amajyn Cannon, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 13 points in addition to seven assists and three steals. Cannon is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Tirzah Boulding, who went 7 of 11 en route to 14 points and six rebounds.

Cannon wasn't the only one working in the assists department: St. Edward's was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

St. Edward's pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.8 points per game. As for Odyssey Charter School, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

St. Edward's didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 44-14 win against Master's Academy on the 30th. As for Odyssey Charter School, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-21 defeat against Melbourne on the 31st.
