Baseball Game Preview: Iberia Rangers vs. Dixon Bulldogs

The Iberia Rangers will square off against the Dixon Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Iberia 3.9, Dixon 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Dixon will be up against a hot Iberia team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. The Rangers' pitchers stepped up to hand Stoutland a 4-0 shutout on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Dixon fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against St. Elizabeth on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 4-3. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Iberia pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Dixon, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.

Iberia took their victory against Dixon when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. Will the Rangers repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
