Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for West Marshall

West Marshall hadn't done well against Grundy Center recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The West Marshall Trojans came out on top against the Grundy Center Spartans by a score of 54-46. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 47-18 victory the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

The win (which was West Marshall's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Grundy Center, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

West Marshall and Saydel will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. West Marshall is facing Saydel at the right time seeing as Saydel is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Grundy Center, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against South Hardin at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. South Hardin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.7 points per game this season.
