Softball Recap: Reedsville Drops Highest Score of Season Against Hilbert

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Reedsville). They blew past the Hilbert Wolves 14-7 on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won three matches in a row.

Reedsville let Paige Busse and Kortney Dvorachek run wild. Busse went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Dvorachek went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two runs gave Busse a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emersyn Sebo, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Reedsville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .568. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Reedsville's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Hilbert, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reedsville will welcome Kiel at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Hilbert, they will take on Three Lakes/Phelps at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
