Basketball Recap: Choctaw County Falls Despite Big Games from Jarrod Chaney and Nehemiah Adams

After flying high against Johnson last Monday, Choctaw County came back down to earth. The Choctaw County Tigers lost to the Linden Patriots on the road by a 50-33 margin on Wednesday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.

Choctaw County's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Nehemiah Adams, who posted eight points in addition to nine rebounds and four steals, and Jarrod Chaney, who had eight points along with six boards and three steals. Chaney is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last five games he's played.

Choctaw County has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Linden, their victory ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-3.

While Choctaw County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
