Softball Recap: Trinity Comes Up Short

Trinity came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Prospect Mountain Timberwolves, falling 16-8. The Pioneers have struggled against the Timberwolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Olivia Pearson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Brooke Pearson also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Prospect Mountain, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity will square off against Newfound Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Prospect Mountain, they will face off against Raymond at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Timberwolves surely won't give up without a fight.
