Alto has gone a perfect 5-0 against Apple Springs recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Yellowjackets will venture away from home to challenge the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Alto has nine straight wins, Apple Springs has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Alto took on New Summerfield in a bug-themed battle on Thursday. The Yellowjackets blew past the Hornets 20-2. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by seven runs or more this season.
Lacey Stephenson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Alto got a massive performance out of Kaci Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Garcia a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brianna Low, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Alto hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Apple Springs came up short against Neches on Tuesday and fell 20-16.
Lauren Lankford was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Brooke Brister was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances.
Alto's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Apple Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Alto has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Apple Springs struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Alto's way against Apple Springs in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Alto made off with a 15-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellowjackets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
