Basketball Recap: Ferndale Takes a Loss

Ferndale lost against Anacortes back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Ferndale Golden Eagles fell 57-46 to the Anacortes Seahawks. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Seahawks are ranked 31st).

Ferndale's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Anacortes, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ferndale will take on Sedro-Woolley at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Sedro-Woolley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Ferndale likes a good challenge. As for Anacortes, they will square off against Blaine at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Anacortes is facing Blaine at the right time seeing as Blaine is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
