Basketball Game Preview: Preston Indians vs. Green Canyon Wolves

Having just played yesterday, the Preston Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Green Canyon Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Preston didn't have too much trouble with Filer as they won 43-26. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Meanwhile, Green Canyon had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 55-47 victory over West Field on Tuesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolves considering their 23-point performance the contest before.

Preston better keep an eye on Talyssa Nelson. She was instrumental in Green Canyon's win, going 8 of 15 on her way to 21 points and three steals. Nelson is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Laynee Gibson, who posted nine points and seven boards.

Preston pushed their record up to 8-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Green Canyon, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9.

Preston didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Green Canyon in their previous meeting two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 43-37 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Preston since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
