Softball Game Preview: Campbell County Camels vs. Bracken County Polar Bears

The Campbell County Camels will square off against the Bracken County Polar Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Campbell County's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Bishop Brossart as they made off with an 11-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Camels in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won seven in a row.

Hope Hamilton made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Hamilton was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Addysen Griffin was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Samantha Perry, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Campbell County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Brossart only posted a batting average of .062.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bracken County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on Robertson County with a sharp 15-0 victory on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Polar Bears considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Bracken County moved to 16-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Campbell County, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.

Everything went Campbell County's way against Bracken County in their previous matchup back in April, as Campbell County made off with a 28-10 win. Will the Camels repeat their success, or do the Polar Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
