Basketball Game Preview: Perry Maroons vs. Watonga Eagles

The Perry Maroons and the Watonga Eagles, after both having extra time off, will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Perry came into their game two weeks ago off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by Alva 63-12. The Maroons haven't had much luck with the Goldbugs recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Watonga and Okarche had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles fell 42-34 to the Warriors back in December of 2025. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Perry's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Watonga, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Perry was able to grind out a solid win over Watonga in their previous matchup back in January of 2025, winning 69-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Maroons since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
