Softball Recap: Elle Mann Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Devils Lake

Fargo Davies barely beat Devils Lake the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles never let the Firebirds get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory on Friday. The Eagles have beaten the Firebirds the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Firebirds has come to flipping the script.

Sophia Rerick made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Elle Mann was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Olivia Davidson, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Fargo Davies' win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Devils Lake, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Fargo Davies will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Firebirds: the pair will be back at it again later today.
