Volleyball Recap: Ridgefield's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Ridgefield hadn't done well against Darien recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Tigers came out on top against the Blue Wave by a score of 3-1. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Blue Wave walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Ridgefield was especially dominant in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 21-25, 25-15.

Despite the loss, Darien saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Marlene Davis had 20 digs and four aces.

Ridgefield moved to 6-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak. As for Darien, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Ridgefield is set to challenge their familiar foe New Canaan at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Darien will face off against rival McMahon at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
