After a string of six wins, Millington's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to the New Standard Academy Spartans 65-61. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cardinals came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Spartans are ranked 226th).

Millington's defeat dropped their record down to 22-3. As for New Standard Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Millington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Standard Academy, they will face off against Harbor Beach on Thursday. Harbor Beach will roll in looking for their 17th straight victory, something New Standard Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
