Volleyball Recap: Basalt Beats Vail Mountain for Their Third Straight Victory + How To Watch

Basalt proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Vail Mountain Rangers 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Longhorns sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Basalt took Vail Mountain into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-21, 16-25, 18-25, 15-12.

Sidney Barill went supernova, getting 32 digs and two aces. Those 32 digs gave her a new career-high.

Barill wasn't the only good server: Basalt was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in four consecutive matchups.

Basalt now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Vail Mountain, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-5.

Basalt wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against North Fork on the 18th. As for Vail Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against West Grand on the 19th.
