Softball Recap: Monticello Comes Up Short

Monticello lost against Princeton back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Magic lost 12-2 to the Tigers. The Magic just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Monticello saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maggie Benton, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was Benton's first of the season.

Monticello's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Princeton, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Monticello will challenge rival Big Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Princeton is set to take on their familiar foe Chisago Lakes Area at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
