Football Recap: Patterson Skates Past Mountain House with Ease

Patterson had lost three straight, but after bumping their record up to 2-5 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Mountain House Mustangs 49-13. The Tigers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Dasen Pettis produced another solid performance rushing for 163 yards while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 113 rushing yards. Rajean Timmons also deserves some recognition as he punched in his first rushing touchdown of the season.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Patterson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 414 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive matchups.

As for Mountain House, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 629th, while Patterson is ranked 284th).

When it comes to explaining why Mountain House lost, don't look at Erin Foster. Despite the final result, he threw for 181 yards and two TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 102 yards on only 14 carries.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Patterson will take on rival Oakdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,173 yards in their previous games. Meanwhile, Mountain House is set to square off against their familiar foe Manteca at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
