C District 4 (8 Man) recap November 19, 2013

Arkoma was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting Timberlake. The Mustangs came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 34 last week.

Adding to the longest winning streak in C District 4 (8 Man) this week, Thackerville beat Deer Creek 50-0. The victory was the 10th in a row for the Wildcats.

Tanner Sweeten had an awesome week catching the football as Arkoma defeated the Tigers. He caught 15 passes for 327 yards.

Ethann Gates threw for 520 yards and 7 touchdowns.

Zac Harjo made the biggest impact on defense this week as Sasakwa lost to Bluejacket. The 6-foot-2 senior recorded 1 fumble and racked up 1 sack.

Gates put up the best numbers through the air as Mark Weatherton's team bested Timberlake. Gates' favorite target this week was Sweeten, who caught 15 passes for 327 yards.

The Mustangs' Gates and Sweeten have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Gates has thrown for 2,440 yards this season, while Sweeten has 60 catches for 1,596 yards. The Vikings' Cody Harjo leads the league in rushing yards with 1,236.

Arkoma made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 373 from 585. The advance stemmed from a 70-24 victory over Brian Severin's team last week.
