League recap: Eastlake rises, Parkland falls in league standings

4A Region I District 2 league recap: 3/27/13

Eastlake made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from sixth to fourth place in 4A Region I District 2 thanks to a 2-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Parkland fell hardest in the standings, dropping from fourth all the way to sixth place after going 1-2 in the past week. Riverside (18-3, 6-1) is the No. 1 team in the league.

The Rangers outperformed the rest of the league this week, as their two total wins led the league. Riverside beat San Elizario 13-1.

Hanks's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 11 hits and two walks, both of which led the league.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Alex Garcia, who turned in seven Ks for the Knights. With 27 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks first in the league.
