Basketball Game Preview: East Duplin Panthers vs. Southwest Onslow Stallions

The East Duplin Panthers will face off against the Southwest Onslow Stallions at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, East Duplin lost to Kinston on the road by a 56-41 margin. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 325th, while the Vikings are ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, Southwest Onslow entered their tilt with North Lenoir on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They were the clear victor by a 61-40 margin over the Hawks. The Stallions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Southwest Onslow pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 22.5 points. As for East Duplin, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
