Softball Recap: Murrieta Valley Wins Going Away Against Chaparral

Murrieta Valley won the last time they faced Chaparral and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Nighthawks put the hurt on the Pumas with a sharp 15-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Nighthawks.

Charlotte Thayer looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tiffany Karg was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kaylie Gallaspy, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Murrieta Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chaparral only posted an OBP of .391.

Murrieta Valley's record is now 9-12. As for Chaparral, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-18.

Coming up, Murrieta Valley will head out to square off against Temecula Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Nighthawks are facing the Golden Bears at the right time seeing as the Golden Bears are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Chaparral, they will host Vista Murrieta at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
