Baseball Recap: Three Rivers Beats Sabinal for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Three Rivers lost to Sabinal back in February of 2015, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. Three Rivers came out on top against Sabinal by a score of 11-8. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Cody Sells was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. James Contreras was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Three Rivers pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Sabinal, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. Three Rivers is facing La Pryor at the right time seeing as La Pryor is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Sabinal, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Knippa at 6:00 p.m. Sabinal's pitchers better be ready for this one: Knippa has averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
