Baseball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson's last matchup with Daingerfield could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Tuesday. The Bulldogs came up short against the Tigers, falling 9-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 6-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Jefferson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Jefferson has also been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15-1 record this season. As for Daingerfield, they moved to 10-6-1 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

While Jefferson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
