Basketball Recap: Thomas Jefferson Academy Jaguars vs. Brentwood War Eagles
Thomas Jefferson Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 67-44 to the Brentwood War Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 59-34 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Brentwood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bailey Barron out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 boards. What's more, Barron also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in January. Cadence English was another key player, going 8 of 16 on her way to 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Thomas Jefferson Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Brentwood, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Thomas Jefferson Academy will head out to face off against Briarwood Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brentwood, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on First Presbyterian Day at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
