Andrew Jackson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Kingstree likes a good challenge.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Andrew Jackson walked away with it. They breezed by Ridgeland-Hardeeville at home to the tune of 58-16. Considering Andrew Jackson has won six games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Trey Thompson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 150 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Thompson is absolutely dominating the rushing yard category: he's posted at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season. Brady Williams was another key contributor, throwing for 131 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes.
Another reason for the win was Andrew Jackson's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Kamron Mcgill was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Even though Kingstree has not done well against Timberland recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Kingstree narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Timberland 14-12.
The critical scores for Kingstree came from Xavier Dukes and Rodney Bryant.
Their wins bumped Andrew Jackson to 8-3 and Kingstree to 5-6.
