Basketball Recap: Vashon Island Pirates vs. Klahowya Eagles
The Vashon Island Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight loss. They fell 74-67 to Klahowya. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Eli Kraft continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Klahowya, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Carson Langguth, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Vashon Island's defeat was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-16. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Klahowya, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.
Vashon Island will head out on the road to challenge the Rivals at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully East Jefferson [Port Townsend/Chimacum] focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for Klahowya, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m.
