The Bayou Academy Colts will head out on the road to take on the North Delta Green Wave at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Bayou Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Cleveland Central with a sharp 15-4 victory on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Colts have posted since March 13, 2024.

Bo Linkous made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Bayou Academy let Reed Holman and Reed Batts run wild. Holman scored four runs while going 3-for-4, while Batts went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. The dominant performance gave Batts a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was John Howard Gilbert, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
Bayou Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cleveland Central only posted a batting average of .208.
Meanwhile, North Delta got themselves on the board against DeSoto on Monday, but DeSoto never followed suit. They were the clear victor by a 12-0 margin over the Thunderbirds.
Clayton Hentz looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single hit, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February of 2024.
On the hitting side, North Delta got a massive performance out of Owens Johnson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Johnson also stole a stolen base, marking his first of the season. Landon Hoshell was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Bayou Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for North Delta, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bayou Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having got 0 of their hits per game. However, it's not like North Delta struggles in that department as they've got 0 of their hits this season. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bayou Academy might still be hurting after the 22-10 loss they got from North Delta in their previous meeting back in April of 2018. Can Bayou Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
