Recap: Gretna Dragons vs. Pembroke Hill Raiders

The Gretna Dragons entered their tilt with the Pembroke Hill Raiders with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Gretna took down Pembroke Hill 66-51 on Saturday. Given Gretna's advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked tenth in Nebraska, while Pembroke Hill is ranked 118th in Missouri), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gretna had a senior duo take command as Landon Pokorski scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five assists and Alec Wilkins scored 17 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Pokorski pulled down eight or more rebounds. Joey Vieth was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.

Gretna's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Pembroke Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Gretna will challenge Lincoln East at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gretna knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully Lincoln East likes a good challenge. As for Pembroke Hill, they will be playing at home against Rock Bridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
