Softball Recap: Maconaquah Braves vs. Whitko Wildcats
Maconaquah had lost four straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 1-7 to make it five. They came up short against the Whitko Wildcats, falling 7-0. The Braves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Blayklee Buman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
As for Whitko, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games.
