Football Recap: Kennedy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Kennedy can now relate to. They took a 17-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mepham Pirates on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 464th, while the Pirates are ranked 157th).

Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Mepham, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Kennedy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mepham, they will face off against Long Beach at 10:30 a.m. on the 15th. The Marines' defense has only allowed 13.1 points per game this season, so the Pirates' offense will have their work cut out for them.
