Softball Recap: Timpanogos Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Timpanogos proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 11) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Payson Lions. Winning may never get old, but the Timberwolves sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

The team relied heavily on Kelci Gingras, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Kale'a Nakayama was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.

Gingras wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Timpanogos kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. Timpanogos is a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Timpanogos' victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Payson, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Timpanogos will challenge Orem at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Payson, they will square off against Mountain View at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Payson is facing Mountain View at the right time seeing as Mountain View is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
