Preview: Winnfield Tigers vs. Red River Bulldogs

The Winnfield Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Red River Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Winnfield's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 13 games.

Winnfield pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Lakeview at home by a decisive 71-56 margin.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Cl Davis, who scored 19 points along with three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Jaylon Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Red River came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 56-47 victory over Mansfield.

Winnfield's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7. As for Red River, their victory bumped their record up to 15-11.

Winnfield didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Red River in their previous meeting on January 9th, but they still walked away with a 67-61 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Winnfield since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
