Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Saugus couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Margaret's Tartans on Wednesday. The Centurions' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Saugus started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 27-29, 25-22, 25-22, 25-20.

Saugus' loss came despite strong showings from Emily Tran and Bailey Posey. Tran had 20 digs and two aces, while Posey had nine assists and seven digs. Tran has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

Saugus' defeat dropped their record down to 32-8. As for St. Margaret's, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-10.

Saugus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Margaret's, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Cypress on the 1st.
