While Anson's victory against Parkwood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bearcats narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wolf Pack 22-20. The Bearcats haven't had any issues with the Wolf Pack recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Tasean Harris had a dynamite game, rushing for 107 yards and a pair of TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Anson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 221 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 194 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Parkwood's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Smith Barlowe, who threw for 224 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 53 yards on only seven carries. A healthy portion of Barlowe's aerial production (124 yards to be exact) went to Micah Davis, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.
Anson's record is now 2-8. As for Parkwood, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-8.
Looking ahead, Anson will venture away from home to challenge Eastern Wayne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Parkwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
