Recap: Middleton Tigers vs. McNairy Central Bobcats
The Middleton Tigers lost against the McNairy Central Bobcats back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Middleton fell just short of McNairy Central by a score of 50-48. Middleton has struggled against McNairy Central recently, as their match on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Middleton saw an underclassman step up: Harmony Bell scored 18 points along with six assists and six rebounds. The contest was Bell's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kemora Buggs, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Even though they lost, Middleton were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Middleton's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3. As for McNairy Central, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.
Middleton will head out on the road to face off against Walnut at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McNairy Central won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Adamsville at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th.
