Basketball Recap: Alejandro (Alex) Flores' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Aurora Central over Denver North + How To Watch

Aurora Central made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Denver North, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Trojans fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 55-52 on Tuesday. The Trojans were up 30-16 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Aurora Central's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alejandro (Alex) Flores, who posted 15 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The contest was Flores' fifth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ual Yonas, who scored seven points.

Aurora Central now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Denver North, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Aurora Central will be taking part in a tournament against Mullen at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Denver North, they will take on Pueblo Central in a tournament on Thursday.
