Basketball Recap: Williamston Comes Up Short

After flying high against Eastern last Friday, Williamston came back down to earth. The Williamston Hornets were dealt a 57-18 loss at the hands of the Gabriel Richard Fighting Irish on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Fighting Irish are ranked second).

Williamston has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season. As for Gabriel Richard, their victory was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-1.

When Williamston and Gabriel Richard next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Williamston will try to stop Haslett's seven-game winning streak when the meet at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Gabriel Richard will square off against Notre Dame Academy and their three-game winning streak at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
