Rockville had already won six in a row and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They put the hurt on the Civic Leadership Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win. The Rams have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Rockville took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-9, 25-15.
Rockville can attribute much of their success to Wesley Foo, who had ten digs and two assists. Nathaniel Thompson also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.
Rockville was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in seven consecutive matches.
Rockville's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. As for Civic Leadership, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Coincidentally, Rockville and Civic Leadership will both be playing Woodstock Academy the next time they take the court. The Rams will head out to face the Centaurs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
