River Valley waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They never let the Galena Pirates get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The final result isn't all the surprising considering River Valley's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 46th in Wisconsin, while Galena are ranked 358th in Illinois).

Karina Osborn was the driving force of River Valley's attack as she scored both of River Valley's goals, bringing her season total up to 23 goals.

River Valley pushed their record up to 9-1-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Galena, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

River Valley has already played their next match (against Galena/River Ridge), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Galena, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dodgeville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
