Basketball Recap: Davianna Irons' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fort Wayne Wayne over Lakewood Park Christian

Fort Wayne Wayne lost against Lakewood Park Christian back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Fort Wayne Wayne Generals fell 55-46 to the Lakewood Park Christian Panthers. The Generals' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Several Generals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Davianna Irons, who posted nine points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tani Hairston, who scored eight points.

Ava McGrade continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lakewood Park Christian, going 6 for 12 on her way to 26 points and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which McGrade has scored at least a third of Lakewood Park Christian's points. Lilia West was another key player, going 6 of 12 en route to 15 points and eight boards.

Fort Wayne Wayne's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Lakewood Park Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-6.
