Basketball Recap: Holy Savior Menard Drops Season-High Score on Plainview

Holy Savior Menard scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They took an 86-74 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plainview Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Hornets are ranked 80th).

Despite the loss, Holy Savior Menard still got an impressive performance from Peyton Procell, who shot 7-for-13 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 27 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Procell a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylor Smith, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 20 points.

Even though they lost, Holy Savior Menard was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Holy Savior Menard's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Plainview, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
