Baseball Recap: Milano Takes a Loss

Milano's last matchup with Iola could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Saturday. Milano came up short against Iola, falling 11-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-2 last Tuesday.

Milano saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Valadez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave Valadez a new career-high.

Milano has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7-1 record this season. The victory was the fourth in a row for Iola, bringing their record up to 11-3.

Coming up, Milano will face off against Richards at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Milano's pitchers better be ready for this one: Richards has averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Iola, they will head out on the road to take on Round Top-Carmine at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
