Baseball Recap: Kofa Comes Up Short

Kofa lost against Chandler back in April of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Kofa fell just short of Chandler by a score of 2-1. The match marked the Kings' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Ernesto Hernandez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kofa saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julio Reina, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Kofa's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Chandler, they moved to 7-7-1 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kofa will welcome Red Mountain at 3:45 p.m. on April 4. As for Chandler, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mountain View at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Chandler's pitchers better be ready for this one: Mountain View has averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
