Soccer Game Preview: Philo vs. Licking Valley

The Philo Electrics will head out on the road to challenge the Licking Valley Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Philo and six for Licking Valley.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Philo's offense. They fell just short of John Glenn by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, Philo haven't been shut out since back in August.

Meanwhile, Licking Valley also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Mt. Vernon on Wednesday, falling 3-0. That's two games in a row now that Licking Valley have lost by exactly three goals.

Philo's loss dropped their record down to 8-5-2. As for Licking Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10-1.

Everything went Philo's way against Licking Valley in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as Philo made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Electrics since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
