Basketball Recap: Westminster Christian Academy Comes Up Short

If Westminster Christian Academy was riding high fresh off their 61-34 takedown of Berchmans Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Westminster Christian Academy Chargers lost to the North Vermilion Patriots on the road by a 68-49 margin on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chargers of the 64-37 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Despite the defeat, Westminster Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Tyler Spraggins posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Ben Andress, who put up nine points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Westminster Christian Academy fell to 2-1. As for North Vermilion, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Westminster Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-29 win against Northside Christian on the 9th. As for North Vermilion, they will venture away from home to challenge Catholic - N.I. at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
