Preview: Matoaca Warriors vs. Fleming Colonels

The Matoaca Warriors have the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome the Fleming Colonels at 6:00 p.m. on November 24th. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Matoaca: 13.5, Fleming: 14.5) so any points scored will be well earned.

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Matoaca had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Eagles 36-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Matoaca, who have now won six contests by 28 points or more so far this season.

Matoaca's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Montino Williams jr, who rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Dillon Newton-short, who picked up 104 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Fleming entered their tilt with Freeman with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Fleming narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Freeman 23-20. 23 seems to be a good number for Fleming as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Matoaca is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Fleming, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
