Highland had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Westlake Demons a 4-0 shutout on Tuesday. Give the Hornets' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

The result came thanks to Dan Miller's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Casey Myser was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times he's played.

Highland is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Westlake, their loss dropped their record down to 14-13.

Coming up, Highland will face off against St. Vincent-St. Mary at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hornets 2.6, the Fighting Irish 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Westlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
