Football Recap: Mojave Comes Up Short

After soaring to 82 points the game before, Mojave was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They had to suffer through a 55-8 loss at the hands of the Mammoth Huskies. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Huskies are ranked fifth).

Mojave has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Mammoth, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mojave will challenge Milken at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.17 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Mammoth, they will square off against Immanuel Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskies will need to watch out since the Crusaders have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
