Volleyball Recap: Sheridan Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Mauri O'brien and Ella Thomas

Sheridan had taken Tri-Valley down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Generals fell just short of the Scotties by a score of 3-2. The Generals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Scotties earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Sheridan took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 18-25, 19-25, 25-16, 15-9.

Sheridan's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ella Thomas, who had 15 assists and eight digs, and Mauri O'Brien, who had ten kills, ten digs, and two blocks. O'Brien has been hot, having posted seven or more kills the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Stoltz, who had 15 digs and seven assists.

Sheridan now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Tri-Valley, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Sheridan is set to challenge their familiar foe Philo at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Tri-Valley will square off against rival River View at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
